Have you ever thought about living in a country other than the one you were born in? For me, the answer to this question was easy.
At my life stage, it just made sense to try something new. Little did I know what was ahead when I made the decision to stay in Ukraine just a few months. That was fourteen years ago.
At the beginning of 2006, the thought of living in another country had never entered my mind. That was before I had met my sweetheart online on December 15, 2006. That day changed our lives in many ways.
Meeting Larisa in person for the first time months later, made me think about life in her country. What would that be like? How would that work? Did it make sense to live in Ukraine for a while?
So many choices and important decisions to make. Meeting online is one thing, meeting face to face is another. Getting to know each other created an entirely new dimension in our relationship. That was then.
Today, we couldn’t be happier. We live in Ukraine because we feel comfortable with our lifestyle. Family here is important for us too. Financially, we can live just about anywhere. Looking at all factors, for us, it just makes good sense to live in Ukraine. We look at it more like our home base.
Travel across Ukraine and neighboring countries is easy and generally inexpensive. That is, if you know what you are doing.
Searching for the best travel deals takes time and research. It’s well worth the investment. Eastern Europe has so much to offer. Today, we wouldn’t have it any other way.
